Synonym Study Unscrupulous, unprincipled mean without regard for what is morally right. Unscrupulous implies a willful disregard of moral principles: »

Unprincipled implies a lack of moral principles: »

He is so unprincipled that when I explained my scruples to him it was obvious he didn't know what I was talking about.

The distinction is roughly parallel to the difference between immoral and amoral.
